I recently heard that drinking cold drinks will cause bulging tummy because it will
(the temperature) cause the womb to contract and thus mislead your brains into thinking that the protective layer (fats) outside the uterus are thinning hence, produce more fats that leads to having ‘spare tire’ around the waist.
???????
I believe that there are some truths in it but,
(I actually cut down on cold drinks already)
How true is it?
According to Dr Stanley Liew, consultant endocrinologist at Raffles Hospital, drinking cold water should not affect the womb specifically but rather your body as a whole if taken excessively. Huge amount of ice water will cause hypothermia or water intoxication.
On the contrary, drinking cold water may burn some calories but this of cos, usually not significant enough to have any effect on body weight.
However, drinking cold water after meal will cause the oil in food to solidify and thus turn into ‘sludge’.
Once this 'sludge' reaches the stomach reacts with the gastric acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. The molecules of a saturated fat are flat. They pile up like pages in a book and stick to each other. Very soon, this will turn into saturated fats aka (SATFAs) and lead to cancer and if not, a BULGING TUMMY.
Now, Your body makes all the SATFAs it needs.
Imagine; natural SATFAs + sludge = FAT TUMMY
It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
My conclusion, drinking cold water will unlikely to affect your womb but because it lowers down your body temperature and solidifies oil, decelerate digestion and slows metabolism, bulging tummy will still occur from prolong drinking of icy water after meal.
PLS NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR AND NOT THE MAIN CAUSE OF A SLUGGISH BODY.
I’m not trying to suggest that you quit cold drinks but everything in moderation might just be a better option. There’s no harm in cutting it down either, Nothing to loss and Everything to Gain : )
If you really want a beautiful silhouette and better health, stay away from process foods that contain Hydrogenated Fats & Trans Fats.
Note: NOT ALL FATS ARE BAD. THERE ARE GOOD FATS THAT ARE ESSENTIAL TO OUR BODY AS WELL.
