*The Bangkok Post Pt 2

Day 6 (continuous)
After purchasing the coach tickets for Bkk - HatYai, we went off to Sis's church to internet search for tour aganecies in HatYai. Couldn't seem to find any relevent answers and we resorted to calling my mum in SG cos she used to know people from the tour line when she had her own business.

After all the phone calls, we finally manage to get everything in place. If nothing goes wrong on the way to HatYai, we'll be able to board the coach back to SG in time. But! The thing about Life is, it's never smooth sailing.

Day 7

We started the day in JJ market. I had a misunderstanding with JH, got angry and stomp off by myself to meet my sis. I know it wasn't right to leave my friends behind like that but yea, it's the way I am. We were suppose to meet my Sis to pass her the deposit for the travel agency in HatYai. But yeap, we wasted a lot of time trying to find each other, me and the guys, cos they couldnt find the right train station to alight. Can't blame them, they never been to Bkk before. When I finally met them, time were already running out cos that agency guy only gave us till mid day to tranfer him the money. So, chop chop collect the sum from the guys, hop on the cab and off we went. JH & WS stayed at JJ to shop, cause I didnt want to see JH ( I was still mad at him ).

While on the way, you can imagine all the anxiety. Traffic jam, cabby doesnt know her way blah blah blah. By the time we got to the mall, my sis almost broke into a run lor. Come to think abt it, it was rather comical.

Heaved a sigh of relief after the guy got the money and we headed back to Sis's apartment nearby. Ate lunch, played with Kimchi (her toy poodle), camwhore a while and then we have to go back to the hotel and packed to leave that evening.

JH & WS was late. No point asking them to meet us back at the hotel. So, 3 of us have to carry 5 people worth of baggage to the train station. Luckily both the guys were already there when we reached.

I went to register with the agency and all they told me is to, wait. we waited and waited and waited. At long last, we got to the correct bus and boarded. I tell you lor, these people are not helpful lot. Next time, remember not to travel with them. They are a bunch of cheaters. It was suppose to be a direct trip to HatYai. You know, direct with no stopping anywhere in between.

After travelling for some time, we reached a pit stop. The price of the food there are like, black market price lo. If I'm not wrong, it's 100% above the market price. WTH. Aim to tock tourists only, esp all those ang mohs. They rest of the journy was rather peaceful with us all worn out.

Day8
Situation 8 Wee hours, we were awaken by the staff shouting for us to alight. We thought it was another pit stop so we galdly obliged. Who knows! they unloaded all our baggages and distributed us into different groups. Apparently, there are people going to different provinces on that coach and the supposedly direct bus was a scam. IT ONLY STOP AT SURATHANI.

Situation 9 The 5 of us were asked to board a mini van that claimed to take us to HatYai. I tell you! Kanna cheated again! We were taken to this run down agency in Surathai and were told to wait for another hour for another coach to take us to HatYai. Waiting another hour means we have to miss the coach back to SG. By this time, I was already panic stricken. Went to check with the Fatty cum Buck tooth in charge if there's any other way faster than waiting. He said yes, hire a mini van for 4000baht. OMFG! None of us had that much cash anymore and there's wasnt any ATM in sight. So, no choice lo. Had to call my aunt in HatYai to try to postpone the tickets for us. It was monsoon season in HatYai then and there were chances that flood will occur.

After what seemingly like forever, that Fatty finally led us to the coach heading to HatYai. You can imagined our relief. Boarded the coach, relaxed, thinking that we'll reach our destination in no time. Situation 10 WE WERE WRONG. The coach went about picking people up. You know, like SBS bus w/o any itinerary. They will go any where that has got passengers. Such a waste of time. At first I was still secretly hoping that this journey wont take us that long to reach lo. By the time we were near HatYai, it was drizzling then down came the rain.

Situation 11 When we reached the boarder of the province, it was already flooding calf high and there's no way that the coach could advance in further. We had to alight barefooted and carry our baggage in the water. First time ever -.- Luckily the driver and his wife were responsilble enough to get all of us tarnsport to take us into town before going off. Otherwise, I really wouldn't know what to do.

I was like, calling my auntie all the times and when we reached the so call bus interchange in HatYai, immediately chartered a tuk tuk to my aunt's place. And apprently, me and aunt miscommunicated. She told me to wait for her to pick us up while I told her that we can find our way to her house. lol and of cos, we caouldnt find her when she arrived at her place, only my cousins were there. Aunt came back shortly after. Man. I was so happy and glad at the same time, to see her again. We haven met each other for years.

That's pretty much of day 8.

Day 9 & 10

These 2 days were spent eating and shopping around HatYai and finally, on Day 10, we boarded the bus home. So so so so very glad.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This trip was truly eventful, political unrest, natural disater, the bad & the kind, all rolled into one. Kindda worth the air tickets, right? LOL Well, we been thru it, experienced it, learn and grew from it. Blogging about this now makes me miss and reminisce the time there : )
Despite the unpleasants, and if I can turn back time, yes, I will still choose to go thru it again.
